Great Wheal Seton
The last remaining site within the Red River Valley where a population of Scarce Blue-tailed Damselflies still clings on. This species was once found all along the valley, but over the decades each site was lost to neglect or development, except for this one. Today, we carry out a work party at least once a year to prevent scrub from growing over the pools and ensure the continuity of this species. Perhaps one day, it will return to other sites in the valley.
